Dual Degree Programs with Engineering

Engineering students at UNC Charlotte have the opportunity to earn both an engineering degree and B.S. Physics degree in four years. These two degrees are awarded at the same time and are called dual degrees. Our dual degree programs are designed to broaden and enhance the education of students in the engineering programs and make them more competitive in the marketplace. Graduates of the dual degree programs in physics and engineering receive a thorough education in physics, in addition to the applied and specialized skills they acquire in the engineering programs.

We offer dual degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering, Physics and Computer Engineering, and Physics and Mechanical Engineering. In all cases to obtain the physics degree you must complete 12 hours of upper division physics courses beyond the physics courses required for your engineering degree.
